School of Art, Design and Media Studies (SADMS)

The Department of Mass Communication (established in the year 2012) aims at shaping and moulding you into professionals, equipped to take on any task or challenge. This is done through a battery of exceptionally trained faculty who have at their disposal a veritable arsenal of audio-visual teaching aids and computer software support systems. We aim at preparing you for finest newspapers, television and radio channels, broadcast and film production companies, public relation firms and advertising agencies.

We strive to make you industry ready by providing extensive written and audio-visual skills in communication, Advertising, Development Communication and Public Relations. To provide the practical learning to the students, the school has an own community radio station named 'Suno Sharda - 90.8 FM' which is dedicated to changing the lives of the residents of Greater Noida and adjoining areas. The School aims at creating professionals who are updated with latest advancements in their respective fields and are ready to take on any challenge with a confident mind and creative flair.

Journalism and Mass Communication

The Department of Mass Communication aims at imparting world class teaching, training and research in the field of communication, thus committed to serving society and preparing to take students to take on challenges of a highly competitive world. Combining theory and practice, the department offers you curricula for Bachelor's and Master’s degree with the aim to meet the needs of communication professionals working in various media outfits of the industry.
To give maximum practical exposure, there is a student-run newspaper "Shardans" and community radio station "90.8 FM Suno Sharda". Industry Visits, Media Mela, Seminars and Special Guest Lectures are an integral part of the courses offered by Sharda.

Education Loan

Sharda University aims to support deserving/meritorious students in availing financial assistance for pursuing their higher education. In order to encourage students to take up higher education despite their financial shortcomings.

Students can avail loan from any bank. However, for the benefit of its students, Sharda University has tie-ups with the following banks:

We help our students in speedy disposal of their loan applications across the country. During June-August, a kiosk is set up inside the University for the benefit of students seeking financial assistance from the bank.

Procedure for Availing Bank Loan Assistance

Students who want to apply for Educational Loan will need an offer letter from the University. The University will provide the requisite offer letter as required by the bank for loan purposes, as and if believed appropriate.
However, the students and their parents/guardians shall be responsible for obtaining sanction and repayment of the sanctioned loan and all kinds of liabilities and consequences arising thereof, if any. The University shall not be liable and responsible in this regard.

Economically Weaker Section (EWS) - Guidelines for Education Loan

Central Scheme to provide Interest Subsidy for the period of moratorium on Educational Loans taken by students from economically weaker sections from scheduled banks under the Model Education Loan Scheme of IBA.

  • Libraries

    Housed in spacious halls, the Libraries are well stacked with text books, technical journals, periodicals, and reference material for advanced research and development work. The schools also subscribe to DELNET and other Internet Libraries. It remains open 14 hours a day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on all days, and up to 19-20 hours a day during examinations.

    The University has many Auditoriums and Seminar Rooms equipped with the latest audio visual facilities for guest lectures, seminars, presentations, and other academic activities. Besides, every school has a Conference/Board room for meetings, faculty presentations, and discussions.

    With more than 20 clubs broadly classified under Cultural, Sports and Technical Societies, the students activity center at Sharda University provides students a platform to showcase their knowldege/talents and assist in overall growth of the students.     Students of Sharda University have access to medical facilities within the campus as University has a world class 900 beded Multi specialty hospital with all modern medical facilities such as General Medicine, ICU, Trauma center, 3 Tesla MRI, CT Scan, ECG, X-Ray and Laboratory Investigation. Health insurance cover for all students is one of the additional services under active consideration.

    Training students in a practical environment is a vital part of our academic plans, considering that the practical exposure is an inevitable aspect of a student's overall development regarding subject understanding and related concepts. Sharda University offers modern workshop facilities, as an integral part of the programme curriculum

  • Classrooms

    The Teaching-Learning pedagogy used in the classrooms is IT enabled and all classrooms are fitted with LCD projectors and sound systems. The lecture halls can accommodate upto 200 students while the tutorial classes are designed for a strength of 30-40 students.

  • Laboratories

    Sharda University has excellent laboratory facilities for carrying out teaching, research and consultancy activities in various disciplines of engineering, medical, dental sciences and mass communication. The University has state of the art labs that allow the students to experiment and bring to practice what they have learnt in theory.

  • Computing Facilities

    The University recognizes the key role that IT plays in teaching as well as research. Therefore, it is committed to provide computing facilities of the highest standards. A high-speed optical fiber network is being build to connect all blocks of campus to provide a high speed of internet connectivity of 1.6 Gbps through two ISPs, a latest technology wireless network with redundancy allows all students to access a range of services across our entire campus including student hostels with more than 700 access points.
